According to Page Six in The New York Post, Joe Forgione of JMF Properties — the principal developer of The Clarus in Maplewood Village — is in the running to head the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Post writes: “New Jersey real estate developer Joseph Forgione, a Democrat who raised money for Trump, is said to be the leading pick for secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.”

“Forgione, whose parents emigrated from Italy and who holds dual citizenship, is friendly with Ivanka Trump’s father-in-law, Charles Kushner.”

Charles Kushner was famously prosecuted and convicted in 2005 by then-US Attorney Chris Christie for tax evasion and witness tampering.

Village Green has reached out to Forgione for comment and will update the story should we hear back.
