PHOTO: Maplewood Wins $168,204 in CDBG Funds for ADA-Compliant Ramps

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (center) announced that the Township of Maplewood was among 12 Essex County municipalities and 33 non-profit community organizations that received a total of about $5.5 million from the Community Development Block Grant program and the Emergency Solutions Grant program on Wednesday, February 13. This represents an increase of about $400,000 over the previous year. Maplewood, New Jersey will apply $168,204 in Community Development Block Grant funds to making 50-60 ramps at crosswalks ADA compliant, according to Annette DePalma, the Township Director of Community Development.

The grants were formally announced at a ceremony on February 13 by Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo. The federal CDBG program is distributed through county governments in New Jersey.
