Schedule: Maplewood Dickens Village Debuts December 6

Maplewood Dickens Village is a festive gift from the business community to the local residents and visitors. Horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, concerts, refreshments, children’s activities, special shopping nights provide those heartwarming moments that have drawn many visitors to make Maplewood their home. The event runs three Saturdays: December 6, 13 and 20 

The schedule of Dickens Village events is as follows:

Saturday, December 6
1 p.m. Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive by Maplewood Fire Department escort
1-4 p.m. Dickens Village houses open for viewing
1-3 p.m. Visit with Santa
3-4 p.m. Story hour readings with Township Committeewoman India Larrier
4-5 p.m. Tree Lighting

Saturday, December 13
9:30 a.m. Breakfast with Santa at St. James’s Gate and the Village Trattoria
1-4 p.m. Dickens Village houses open for viewing
1-4 p.m. Visit with Santa
1:30-3:30 p.m. Jack’s Petting Zoo
1:30-4 p.m. Horse & Wagon rides through the village
2-2:45 p.m. Holiday reading for children at Words Bookstore
All day — Strollers caroling throughout the village

Saturday, December 20
1-4 p.m. Dickens Village houses open for viewing
1-4 p.m. Visit with Santa
1:30-3:30 p.m. Jack’s Petting Zoo
1:30-4 p.m. Horse & Wagon rides through the village
2-2:45 P.M. Craft & Story time for children of all ages at the Maplewood Memorial Library, Main Library, Baker Street
All day — Strollers caroling throughout the village

Menorah Lighting, Monday, December 22
Menorah lighting celebrating Hanukkah will be held at 6:15 p.m. at the menorah in Ricalton Square.
