From Bob Zuckerman of SOVCA’s Village Vibe newsletter:
Tuesday night is National Night Out and you are invited! If you haven’t been to one of these events yet or are not sure what is, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood cooperation in order to make our neighborhoods safer. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while demonstrating a real sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together for an evening of information and fun.
Here in South Orange, we celebrate this event with a public safety fair where residents can meet our law enforcement professionals as well as representatives from other departments and organizations in town (like us for example). There will be a Kids Zone, bounce houses, water slides and other activities, as well as free merchandise giveaways. They will also have food trucks on hand so come hungry!
The event begins at 6:30, and starting at 8:30 The Greatest Showman starring Hugh Jackman will be on the big screen, so bring those blankets and lawn chairs out to Flood’s Hill where all the action will be and join us for South Orange’s 9th annual National Night Out!
