Mozzarella at 396 Valley Street in South Orange is set to open on Monday, May 13 — according to a sign in the window.
Locals have been watching the transformation of the space, which has gone from rundown, crowded storefronts to a modern painted brick facade with an elegantly finished interior.
Menu details were available through Priya Chawla at Buy-Rite liquors next door; she has copies of the printed menu that she’s handing out to customers (see photos below).
The menu states that hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. It also provides this testimonial: “Our restaurant celebrates the harmony of traditional Italian cuisine with the evolving palate of Nuevo. We take a lot of pride in serving Local and organic ingredients, all natural free range chicken and Angus meats. Chef Tre Ghoshal introduces a deep love and respect for sourcing the best ingredients and transforming them into delicious and exquisite dishes. At Mozzarella we hope our ambience provides the prefect setting for an unforgettable meal. We hope your enjoy.”
The menu offers small plates, salads, sandwiches, entrees (vegtable risotta, grilled salmon, lemon pepper shrimp), and specialty pizzas (buffalo, bianco, pesto, cheesesteak), pastas, sides and desserts (see menu below). Prices for the entrees run from $18-$22.
