South Orange 4th of July Events Moved to the 5th

This message from the Village of South Orange:

SORRY! Due to the weather forecast for Friday, July 4th, all of the scheduled events and activities will now be held on SATURDAY, JULY 5th. We hope you’ll join us.

Celebrate the 5TH of July in South Orange!
The Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs has planned a day of family fun in and around Meadowland Park and the Community Pool.

The pool will be open to ALL SOUTH ORANGE RESIDENTS on July 5th, 10am to 8pm. Proof of residency (I.D. Badge, drivers’ license or utility bill) will be required at the gate. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The schedule of events during the day includes:

  • 11am to 1pm – Field events/races at Cameron Field for ages 3-12, including Flag Tag, Bucket Brigade, 3 Legged Race, Sack Races, relays and more. (See attached for details).
  • 12 to 4pm – Slide and Bouncy House near the pool entrance sponsored by the SO Parking Authority.
  • 12 to 4pm – Photo Booth at the pool.
  • 12 to 3pm – Sand Art at the pool.
  • Ping Pong Tournament at the pool (see attached for details).
  • Hot Dog Eating Contest at the pool (see attached for details).

Between 10am and 2pm, the South Orange Seaport Society will be sailing their model boats in the Duck Pond. Kids love the boats and the Seaport Society loves kids!
