From the South Orange Village Center Alliance’s Village Vibe newsletter:

Last Friday [June 17], the brand new parking deck at 3rd and Valley opened its gates, so more parking is now available for those of you who are driving downtown for a visit.

The deck is completely free for shoppers and diners after 6 p.m. from Monday through Saturday evenings and all day on Sunday.

Parking is $1 per hour Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m. – 6 p.m. with a maximum of $7 per day, and $1 per hour from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the new commuter section of the deck.

You will be able to use the pay stations at the 3rd Street exit.

These new parking spots should certainly help ease the parking crunch at the Sloan Street parking lot as well as the lot by the firehouse. Also, the gravel lot at the corner of Church Street and South Orange Avenue is becoming a shopper/diner only lot, providing even more spaces for people who just want to come into town to shop or dine.

There is more information on the new parking deck on the Village‘s website and you can always call Neva at the SOPA office at (973) 378-7715 ext. 2037 or email her at nrodriguez@southorange.org for more detailed information.
