The Cassidy in Maplewood Named a Best New Restaurant by NJ Monthly

The Cassidy, a new restaurant in the Clarus building in downtown Maplewood, was named one of the state’s 25 Best New Restaurants by New Jersey Monthly.

Read what the magazine’s food editors had to say:

“Finding good food in Maplewood has never been a problem, but the Cassidy offers something downtown has not had: a large, stylish, contemporary space with a liquor license and cocktail program in sync with a kitchen turning out fresh, engaging, New American food. Maplewood residents Tom and Jennifer Carlin, who own Gladstone Tavern in Gladstone, set out to create a community magnet, but the pull will likely reach wider.”

Indeed, the restaurant has already attracted diners from outside of Maplewood, joining such other popular spots as Arturo’s, Lorena’s, Coda and Verjus, among others. On the horizon: Altopiano, from the chef/owner of Lorena’s, which will be in the former Highland Place spot.
