South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education isn’t the only local governing body to see major changes recently.

The Millburn Board of Education installed its new members on Monday, January 5, 2015. Regina Truitt who was elected to a second three-year term, and new members Richard Gray and Jesse Liu took the oath of office administered by Business Administrator and Board Secretary Steven DiGeronimo.

The Board then unanimously elected current members John Westfall-Kwong (replacing Jeffrey Waters) and Raymond Wong (repacing Truitt) as President and Vice President, respectively, for 2015.

The Millburn Board of Education meets for its first regular meeting with the newly-constituted Board on Monday, January 12 at 7:45 p.m. at the Education Center, 434 Millburn Avenue. The agenda includes the presentation of the initial draft of the 2015-2016 school year budget.  All members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend.

The Board will also be tasked with finding a new superintendent of Dr. James Crisfield, who has headed Millburn’s schools since 2o1o, announced in November that he was leaving his position to lead an out-of-state district beginning in March 2015. In a letter to parents, Crisfield blamed New Jersey’s superintendent salary cap for his decision.
