The first annual Cultural Heritage Festival, presented by the South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race (CCR) was held in Maplewood’s Memorial Park on Saturday.

Under sunny skies with a cool breeze in the air, the festival featured an all-day roster of live performances including Hawaiian, Latin, hip hop, African, Indian, Irish Step, reggae, Japanese and Dixie Land music and dance.

Activites included Afrocentric Face Painting, a Hawaiian Dance workshop, a Chinese Lion Dance, Israeli Folk Dancing, a drumming circle and more.

Vendors were on hand selling handmade items including soaps and lotions, clothing, jewelry, artwork and crafts. There was food, drink, and fun to be had by the whole family.
