Patricia Bell is clearly a woman of generous spirit.

As a patron of the arts, she has turned her South Orange home into a mini-Barnes Foundation, with art crammed wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Her tastes are eclectic, from the sublime to the serious. Media include photography, sculpture, painting, and more.

On Friday, June 13, Bell offered her home up for a wine tasting, led by Hank Zona of The Grapes Unwrapped, and a cocktail reception catered by Blue Plate Special. Maplewood Mayor Vic DeLuca attended. Proceeds went to support the construction of an Outdoor Learning Center for the Seth Boyden Demonstration School.

The event raised approximately $20,000 towards the cost of the Outdoor Learning Pavilion.

“The cost of the Pavilion is roughly $100,000,” organizer Heather Puglisi told The Village Green, “and with the $20,000 from the event, we have about $25,000 left to go.”
