More than 150 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from Maplewood Middle School (MMS) will impress you with their talents onstage for three performances of The Little Mermaid this weekend.

Canadian genre-bending band Cowboy Junkies will make a return visit to SOPAC on Saturday night. For more than 20 years, Cowboy Junkies has remained true to its unique artistic vision and to the introspective, quiet intensity that is its musical signature, creating a critically acclaimed body of original work that has endeared them to an audience unwavering in its loyalty.

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will perform Valentine’s Vistas & Landscapes: Copland & Dvorak at NJPAC this weekend. When it comes to summoning the spacious vistas of the American landscape, few pieces can rival Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony. A different landscape beckons in Silent Woods, inspired by the serene forests of Dvořák’s native Bohemia and performed here by NJSO Associate Principal Cello Stephen Fang.
