Todd Rundgren / The Tubes featuring Fee Waybill

Progressive rock’s groundbreaking songwriter, video pioneer and producer Todd Rundgren performs his greatest songs, including “I Saw the Light,” “Hello It’s Me” and “Can We Still Be Friends” at NJPAC on Friday night. The Tubes, featuring Fee Waybill, is the opener. The title of Todd Rundgren’s 1973 solo album, A Wizard, A True Star, aptly sums up the contributions of this artist to state-of-the-art music. As a recording artist, computer software developer, conceptualist and interactive artist (re-designated TR-i), Rundgren has made a lasting impact on the form and content of popular music. His seminal album Something/Anything?, on which he played all the instruments, sang all the vocals and acted as his own producer, catapulted him into the superstar limelight, prompting the press to dub him “Rock’s New Wunderkind.”
