Got News? How to Get Your Announcement Posted on VillageGreenNJ.com

Since 2014, VillageGreenNJ.com has been the go-to news site for Maplewood and South Orange, NJ — with many of our neighboring towns peeking in to see what we’re up to! Here we explain what is news and what is announcements/promotions. Skip down to find out how to get your announcement posted on VillageGreenNJ.com.

‘Hard’ News

VillageGreenNJ.com owners Carolyn Parisi and Mary Mann are long-time residents and professional journalists with experience covering the local community for The New York Times Local (Carolyn) and Patch (Carolyn and Mary). We bring our skills to comprehensive coverage of our towns — particularly focusing our expertise on government coverage, our school district, redevelopment/development, public safety and policy. We file records requests, attend meetings, transcribe videos, follow up with elected and administrative as well as department leaders. We follow elections, township meetings, board of education, the police and fire departments, and ask hard questions.

You can send News Tips for follow up to [email protected]. Use the words “News Tip” in the subject line.

Opinion Pieces/Letters to the Editors

Opinion pieces and letters to the editor are an important forum and part of our news division at Village Green. Opinion pieces and letters to the editor must be factual, should not attack individual (stick to criticizing ideas, policies, actions), and should contain no foul language. All opinion pieces and letters to the editor are vetted by the editors to ensure that they meet these standards. Letters to the editor and opinion pieces are published at the discretion of the editors.

Please submit Opinion pieces and letters to the editor via [email protected] and use the word “Opnion” in the subject line.
