South Orange Police arrested 25-year-old Irvington resident Yusef Berry on Sunday at around 6:45 p.m. on charges that Berry allegedly exposed himself and urinated in an establishment on Sloan St., according to this week’s police blotter. Berry was charged with disorderly conduct and lewdness.

Burglary to dwelling
A Vose Ave. resident stated that sometime between 8:30am and 11:30am an unknown actor(s) had gained entry into his residence via a front porch window. Once inside the residence the actor(s) ransacked several rooms removing cash and two cameras. The resident notified the Police at approximately 5:20pm of the incident. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
Attempted theft of vehicle
A Hixon Pl. resident stated that at approximately 8:00am he was warming up his 2012 Acura in his driveway when an actor described as a black male wearing a ski mask entered same and attempted to reverse the vehicle out of the victim’s driveway. When the actor observed the victim he fled from the vehicle and ran east toward Academy St. Responding officers canvassed the area with negative results.
Burglary to apartment
A Waverly Pl. resident stated that sometime between 12:15pm and 7:15pm on 3-30-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered his third floor one room apartment by forcing open his bedroom door. Once inside the actor(s) had removed a 36″ flat screen TV, a desk top computer, a Toshiba laptop, and four pairs of Michael Jordan sneakers. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
Burglary to dwelling
A West South Orange Ave. resident stated that sometime between 1:30pm and 10:00pm an unknown actor(s) had entered her dwelling by breaking a rear sliding glass door. Once inside the dwelling the actor(s) removed several articles of jewelry from the master bedroom, an I-pad Air and a Toshiba laptop. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
Warrant arrest
Samari Perez, a 25 year old Orange resident was arrested on 3-30-15 at approximately 12:11pm after an officer on routine patrol stopped the subject for committing a motor vehicle violation on South Orange Ave. During the subsequent stop it was discovered that the subject had an outstanding warrant issued for her arrest out of East Orange. The subject was arrested at the scene without incident and processed accordingly.
Police Information
A South Orange Ave. resident and Seton Hall University student stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 3-28-15 she discovered that an unknown actor(s) had placed a chair and a cinderblock under her bedroom window. The resident stated that in the past she discovered that a step ladder had also been placed under the window. There were no signs of a forced entry on either occasion.
