For those who want to jump out of bed on Saturday morning all ready to go for Maplewoodstock — we’ve got the answer.
Head for the Maplewood Community Pool this week and purchase your Maplewoodstock t-shirts for just $15. Men’s, women’s and children’s sizes are all available. The pool has men’s shirts in orange and maroon; women’s and children’s in lime and aquatic blue.
T-shirts are also available online — but they are $18 and you are running out of time to have them delivered before the Maplewoodstock music and arts festival (happening this Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13).
Maplewoodstock runs from noon until 9:00 pm each day at Memorial Park, directly opposite New Jersey Transit’s Maplewood train station. Now in its 11th year, this two-day music and arts festival — one of the community’s biggest parties of the year – will feature lots of music, food and fun for the whole family.
Sunday’s closing act is Puss ‘n Boots, comprised of sultry singer-songwriter Norah Jones along with Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper. Robert Randolph and The Family Band — named to Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list — will perform on Saturday, and Raul Midon will ring in Puss ’n Boots just before the end of Maplewoodstock on Sunday.
Other acts include the Iguanas, Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution. Twenty three other bands are performing, many with local ties; for a complete list visit the Maplewoodstock website.
“This has always been a family friendly event…our goal has always been to put on the best possible show, by and for the community” said Chairman Drew Dix in a press release. “Maplewoodstock is summer tradition of families, friends, and neighbors bringing out blankets and picnic baskets for a fantastic weekend of music, art, and food.”
Back to the t-shirts: one local recently bought a batch from the pool to take as gifts to far-flung family members while on vacation. Great idea!
