Maplewoodstock fans accustomed to big name acts like the Smithereens and Joan Osborne may be a bit bemused this year when reading that Sunday’s big finale act is Puss N Boots.
Who?
Worry not. The festival is not coming down in the world (though we do love our terrific, talented, amazing, fantastic, funkadelic local bands). Puss N Boots features world-famous Grammy-winning Norah Jones. Yes, she of the sultry Don’t Know Why (I Didn’t Call) fame. Her 2002 debut album Come Away With Me has sold more than 26 million copies worldwide.
Last night, Puss N Boots visited NPR’s Soundcheck to tout the “country-roots” trio’s debut No Fools, No Fun. The group (Jones is joined by Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper) played three songs: Six Degrees of Separation, Always and Don’t Know What It Means. Listen here.
