The new South Orange municipal website will likely be a reality by the beginning of 2016.
Village President Sheena Collum provided the latest update at Monday’s Board of Trustee meeting. Village officials and staff are meeting next week with representatives from CivicPlus, the service creating the new site.
In June, the BOT awarded an $11,500 contract to redesign its municipal website to CivicPlus, a company that specializes in creating municipal and governmental websites.
“It will be a little bit easier to have a municipal website, outreach, all ‘in a box,'” said Collum.
Emphasizing the primacy of other long-standing IT projects the Village is currently implementing, Collum said the website was not a top priority. She anticipated work would be completed on the site by the end of this year, leading to a January 2016 launch.
Township staff is currently in the process of reaching out to various municipal groups and committees to ensure that all of their information on the website is up to date.
