Erin Maguire, actress, singer, comedienne and ‘wacky ginger’, returns to the Broadway FurBall November 16, along with several Broadway actors.

The Broadway FurBall Too – Monday, November 16, 7 p.m. at the Woodland in downtown Maplewood – will feature performers from hit shows such as Mamma Mia, Avenue Q, The Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins – and more.

This blockbuster event will also feature delicious food donated by Cedar Ridge Café, wine and soft drinks, as well as a silent auction for a fantastic variety of items – including a ski trip and a week at a Catskills vacation cottage.

Last year, more than 140 people enjoyed this sell-out gala and this year’s performances promise to be just as great.

Furry Hearts Rescue does a lot to make Maplewood safer for pets, people and wildlife. It has trapped, neutered and vaccinated more than 130 feral cats to humanely reduce the number of unwanted cats in the town. It provides veterinary care and food to abandoned, homeless cats and dogs, and is dedicated to finding foster and permanent homes for those neglected animals. Earlier this year, Furry Hearts even saved more than 50 cats from a hoarder house in a neighboring town whose owners kept the cats in filthy, deplorable, life-threatening conditions.

The all-volunteer group relies entirely on donations, goodwill and its annual gala – the Broadway FurBall  –  to continue to reduce Maplewood’s feral cat population and rescue homeless cats and dogs.

This year’s FurBall is co-sponsored by the Maplewood Health Department, which supports Furry Hearts in its spaying and neutering mission. The FurBall’s title sponsor is Staged Right Homes; additional sponsors include Puppy Love Spa, Matters Magazine, Paper Mill Playhouse and Cedar Ridge Café.

Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 the day of the program. All proceeds go to support Furry Hearts Rescue. $50 of the ticket price is tax deductible.

Furry Hearts Rescue works in cooperation with Maplewood Township on a TNVR (Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Release) program to humanely decrease and manage the township’s feral cat population. Neutering prevents cats from having kittens, and vaccinating prevents the spread of disease. This program also helps reduce the burden on animal shelters.

Furry Hearts Rescue is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and always welcomes new volunteers and donations. All donations are tax-deductible.
