What happens when the Maplewood Recreation Department sets up an obstacle course in the deep end of the big pool and the diving pool?
Briefly, a lot of fun! I haven’t seen the pool so crowded since I was a kid. Back then, you had to be wait-listed to get into the pool.
Keith Knudsen, Maplewood’s Director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs, was on hand for the event which took place Monday, August 11. Knudsen seemed ecstatic to see such enthusiasm. Lines were crazy. Kids didn’t care as they all waited. A DJ — who volunteered his time and music — had people dancing as they waited in the long lines.
I asked if this would happen again this summer and it looks promising. Fingers crossed!
