This fall, four candidates are vying for three seats on the 9-member South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education: Trish Azeez, Liz Callahan, Kevin Diaz, and Will Meyer. Village Green is posting endorsements for candidates from current and former elected officials who hold or held townwide office or higher, as well as endorsements by local organizations. We ask that endorsers coordinate with candidates for full guidelines. Read more election coverage here.

Kevin Diaz

To the Editor:

I write in support of the Board of Education candidacy of Kevin Diaz of South Orange.

Kevin and I spent time recently discussing the issues facing our schools and actions needed. I agreed with his observations and believe he will be an active and insightful BOE member!

During his campaign, Kevin has demonstrated a willingness to voice his positions on the issues without regard to whether or not they might be popular. Together, with his values and his strong commitment to community service, that quality will serve our school district well in the years ahead.

I urge you to cast one of your school board votes for Kevin Diaz, position “1G” on the back of your ballot.
