The Seth Boyden PTA is offering several opportunities for prospective school families to learn about the demonstration elementary school by offering three Parent to Parent get-togethers on Jan. 30, Feb. 10 and March 12, as well as six different dates for PTA-led tours of the school.
Seth Boyden is available to all parents of K-5 students in the South Orange-Maplewood School District as an opt-in school. The school is designated as a demonstration school because of its emphasis on multi-intelligence learning. The school is also notable for its Outdoor Learning Center and garden.
The Parent to Parent get-togethers will provide opportunities for the parents of prospective students to join current Seth Boyden parents to hear about their experiences and ask questions.
The PTA Tours of the school take place during school hours for parents to see the school in action. (These are in addition to the principal’s monthly tours.)
The first Parent to Parent is immediately following the district’s Kindergarten Welcome at Seth Boyden this Saturday.
Note that the tours require signing up by calling the main office at Seth Boyden at 973378-5209 x2, while the Parent to Parent sessions are drop-in.
