We just spoke with Rose in South Orange and Ronnie in Maplewood and have verified the dates:
Early bird registration for the Maplewood Pool ends after May 1, with full rates going into effect on May 2. Early bird registration for the South Orange Recreation & Cultural Affairs I.D. Badge runs through May 14, with full rates kicking in on May 15.
In South Orange, pool admittance is available to all residents who purchase the South Orange Recreation & Cultural Affairs I.D. Badge. From January 1 through May 14, badges cost $30.00/person or $120/family maximum. Besides pool admittance, the badges also get you priority to some Recreation and Cultural Affairs department programs as well as discounts. Per southorange.org, the cost of the badges increases to $35/person, $140/family maximum after the early bird date expires.
I.D. Badges are issued year-round during normal business hours at the offices of the South Orange Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs. Find out more here.
In Maplewood, pool membership is a standalone item and the rates are significantly higher. Early bird seasonal membership rates range from $170 ($190 regular rate) for a senior citizen to $490 ($530 regular rate) for a “family with caregiver.” See the complete rate chart below.
