Maplewood Police arrested Adam Kitchens, 23 of Irvington, on Saturday and charged him with robbery and possession of a weapon, said Sgt. Christopher Black. A man reported that he went to the 200 block of Franklin Avenue to meet with a woman he had met online, said Black. When he arrived, he was met by Kitchens, who allegedly pushed an object into his side, said he had a gun and stole money from him, Black said.

After an investigation, police arrested Kitchens the same day, and he was transferred to the Essex County Jail. The man was not injured.
