Words Bookstore is once again hosting a month-long celebration of Waldo and small businesses, with its “Find Waldo” contest in Maplewood.
To participate, pick up your “Find Waldo” passport at Words Bookstore.
Then, keep your eyes open.
Whenever you spot the small cardboard Waldo cutout hiding in 26 local shops and restaurants throughout town, get your passport stamped or signed. The contest runs from July 1 through July 28.
Participating businesses include: Able Baker, Bee & Thistle, Cedar Ridge Cafe, Framing Mill, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Hopscotch, Kokoro, Lickt Gelato, Lotus Petals, Ma/Da, Maplewood Karate, Maplewood Pizzeria, Maplewood Stationers, Maplewood Theater, Matters Magazine, No. 165, Park Wood Diner, Perch Home, Roman Gourmet, Salvage Style, Shenanigans Toys, Strawberry Fields, Truly Yours, Village Coffee Co, Village Ice Cream Parlour — and, of course, Words Bookstore.
Once you have collected at least ten different stamps or signatures, you can bring them to Words to get your Waldo button and a $1 off Waldo book coupon (for use at Words Bookstore only). Hurry because the buttons and coupons are limited to the first 125 people to bring in passports!
Spot Waldo at 20 stores (stamped or signed) and be entered into a grand prize drawing for a 6-volume deluxe set of Waldo books and other prizes. The prizes will be awarded at a grand celebration at Words on Thursday, July 28 at 4 p.m.
