The Star-Ledger/NJ.com recently chose top diners for all 21 counties in the State of New Jersey — no easy task since many consider New Jersey home to the best diners in the world.
From a crowded and competitive field, Maplewood’s Park Wood Diner on Springfield Avenue was chosen best in Essex County (the Ritz Diner in Livingston was the runner-up). NJ.com food writer Peter Genovese cited the chicken pot pie and lemon meringue pie as standouts.
