Coalition on Race Honors Greene, Heisler

The South Orange Maplewood Community Coalition on Race honored two of its former leaders—Barbara Heisler and Anthony Greene—at its annual dinner fundraiser Celebrating Integration: Bringing Community Together event.

About 116 people attended the event at SOPAC Loft in South Orange on October 18, reported Coalition Executive Director Nancy Gagnier.

“In addition to great food, dancing, an auction, and good fellowship, there’s always so much good feeling in the room about the work we do. Last night that was especially true as we honored Barbara—the founding Executive Director, and Anthony Greene, a long-time trustee and former chair,” said Gagnier.

Heisler currently serves as the Executive Director of GlassRoots in Newark NJ. GlassRoots, a youth-serving glass art organization, works diligently to counter the challenges youth face by providing a safe environment, positive role models, and rigorous program and skill development activities and opportunities. She served as the Executive Director of the Coalition from 1996 through 2000, and again from 2001-2006. Her community outreach and professional successes are wide-ranging–read more.

Greene is a Senior Vice President at Herbert L. Jamison & Co., L.L.C. where he has worked since 1988. Jamison is an AssuredPartners, Inc Member Firm and has offices in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Florida, Washington DC and the United Kingdom. He has worked for many years as an advocate in the fields of diversity & inclusion at the national level as well as serving as a trustee and Chair of the Board for the Coalition–read more.
