We think the community missed First Night Maplewood-South Orange during its two-year hiatus. Why? Tonight, a steady of stream of party-goers have been pouring into Columbia High School to hear music, see magic, enjoy games, greet princesses, eat food, get their faces painted and, ultimately, see fireworks.

There’s still time to join the fun!

First Night Maplewood South Orange, a night of family-oriented, alcohol-free activities, runs through 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve.  The event will be headlined by the Jersey Shore rock and roll party band, The Nerds, who will play three set at 7, 8 an 9 p.m. in the main gym (see the full schedule of the night’s entertainment here).

First Night will be held at Columbia High School, 525 Academy St. Maplewood, on December 31 from 5 – 10 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Door on NYE for $20.

A volunteer Board comprised of residents from both Maplewood and South Orange organized First Night. Funding for the event is made possible through title sponsors including BCB Community Bank and Atlantic Health/Overlook Medical Center, The Gateway and Maplecrest Ford, as well as the Township of South Orange Village, the Township of Maplewood and the South Orange-Maplewood School District.
