South Orange Hometown Holiday

Saturday, December 10 is the return of South Orange’s Hometown Holiday. This annual event is produced in conjunction with the South Orange Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs, and sponsored once again by Fran Lichtman and Randy Rabney of the Lichtman-Rabney team at Keller Williams and also this year by  BCB Community Bank.

Santa Claus will be returning to the firehouse for a visit and pictures with the kids from 1:30 – 4:30 PM. Then, at 5 PM, Santa will once again lead all his elves up South Orange Avenue for the South Orange tree lighting at 5:15 PM.

The South Orange Village Center Alliance is taking free photos with Santa. All kids visiting Santa will receive a candy cane and elf hat which SOVCA hope they will wear for the 5pm Elf Parade up South Orange Avenue to the Tree Lighting.

Along with Santa there will be performances by students from the Maria Priadka School of Dance.

Here is the full schedule of events:

ELF PARADE, 5:00 PM, Firehouse to 76 S.O. Avenue

Kids and adults are invited to join the Elf Parade at 5:00 PM. Wear your own holiday hat or elf hat and follow Santa and the fire truck from the firehouse up South Orange Avenue to 76 South Orange Avenue (the PNC bank building) where we will have our annual tree lighting

Santa will arrive by fire truck and help us light the tree. We’ll be joined at the ceremony by local dignitaries as well as by a great brass band, Clarity Brass, who will be playing holiday tunes. Not to mention hot chocolate and cookies for kids and adults alike.
