Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Track at South Orange Station

A pedestrian was struck and killed on the track at South Orange Station on Monday, April 18, 2016, around 5 p.m.

Train service was restored in both directions shortly before 6 p.m. with delays of up to 60 minutes.

The incident is under active investigation by NJ Transit, according to South Orange Village President Sheena Collum.

As of 5:40 p.m., local residents on the 4:38 p.m. train were reporting that the train was being held in Penn Station.
