A 47-year-old woman was hit by a car in front of South Orange Middle School late Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
The woman, who according to one report is the parent of a SOMS student, was “safely extricated from beneath the vehicle and taken to the hospital,” said South Orange Village President Sheena Collum. There is no word yet on her condition, and authorities are investigating, Collum said.
The incident caused the closure of N. Ridgewood Road from South Orange Avenue to Tillou Road. Numerous police and emergency vehicles were in the area.
