From the Springfield Ave. Partnership:

The Springfield Avenue Partnership (SAP) looks forward to celebrating the holiday season, beginning with Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 26th.

The SAP encourages local residents to do all or part of their holiday shopping at local businesses, reminding them that for every $100 spent at a local, independently owned  business, $68 remains in the Maplewood community. A full list of Small Business Saturday specials to be offered on Springfield Avenue can be found here.

In addition to Small Business Saturday, the Maplewood Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs and the Springfield Avenue Partnership are pleased announce the 4th Annual Holiday Celebration at the Springfield Avenue Gazebo. The event will take place on Sunday, December 11 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Sponsored by Meineke Car Care Center, the event will feature live music, cookies, hot chocolate, photos with Santa Claus, a tree lighting ceremony, menorah blessing, and crafts and stories that celebrate different cultural traditions.

Holiday music performances by the Bruno Lee featuring Bet HaSHEM and the Seth Boyden Elementary School Choir.

“We are excited to celebrate the season with residents, retailers and the Maplewood community for the 4th year at the Gazebo on Springfield Avenue,” said Missi Mancuso, Maplewood’s Director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs. “ We look forward to seeing our neighbors and friends joining the festivities as we kick off the holiday season.”

Julie Doran, Springfield Avenue Partnership Director, added, “The Springfield Avenue Partnership is delighted to co-host the Holiday Celebration again this year and would like to thank this year’s sponsor, Meineke Car Care Center located at 1796 Springfield Avenue, Maplewood.”

A schedule of planned events can be found here. The event is free to the public.
