It’s that time of the year — when Maplewood Village turns up the charm-o-meter to “11” and turns into a Dickensian dreamscape.

Here are all the details:

Small Business Saturday, November 29
Visit Maplewood Village on Saturday, November 29 and enjoy  promotions, refreshments, in-store events & more from participating businesses. Follow the balloons or look for participating merchant posters in store windows. You’ll also find a complete list of participating merchants on the Maplewood Village Alliance website.

Nutcracker at the Burgdorff Center, Saturday, December 6
1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Especially great for little ones (it’s only one hour), with many local dance students performing. Ticket information at 973-762-3033.

Annual Holly Walk, Saturday, December 6
Enjoy discounts, gifts, holiday refreshments and decorations as you shop Maplewood Village on Saturday, December 6. Over 20 Maplewood Village merchants will be participating. Check back here after Thanksgiving for a list of participating merchants or simply follow the red and green balloons throughout town.

Maplewood Village Holiday Tree Lighting, December 6, 4-5 p.m.
Join Mayor Vic DeLuca for entertainment, a holiday reading and the lighting of the town tree in Ricalton Square.

Studio B Bizarre Bazaar, Sunday, December 7
On Sunday, December 7, 40 local artists, crafters and collectors will fill The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road, with their unique, high-quality work. Now in its second year, the Holiday Bizarre Bazaar boasts the “largest group of local artists under one roof,” and what’s more — their work is for sale.  Studio B, a local arts organization dedicated to promoting and producing the work of the creative citizens of Maplewood and South Orange, began the Holiday Bizarre Bazaar as a way of adding to the “amazing shopping experience in our two towns,” says Studio B co-founder and “honcho” Marcy Thompson.

1978 Gallery “Buy Art Now Guys!” BANG IX Art Show and Sale

Now in its 9th year, BANG features affordable, small scale original artwork by over 40 local and regional artists. The exhibition will be open on December 6, 7, 13 and 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Breakfast with Santa, Saturday, December 13
Breakfast with Santa will be held at The St. James’s Gate and the Village Trattoria on Saturday morning, December 13 at 9:30 a.m. Tickets will be available for sale at St. James’s Gate and the Village Trattoria.

Maplewood Community Music Free Holiday Concert, Saturday, December 13
A full afternoon of music featuring the Maplewood Community Concert Band, the big band Swing Town, The Silvertones flute choir, the Swingville jazz combo and more. 1-5 p.m. at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Rd. More information here.

Maplewood Dickens Village, Saturdays, December 6, 13 and 20
Maplewood Dickens Village is a festive gift from the business community to the local residents and visitors. Horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, concerts, refreshments, children’s activities, special shopping nights provide those heartwarming moments that have drawn many visitors to make Maplewood their home. The schedule of Dickens Village events is as follows:

1-4 p.m. Visit with Santa
1:30-3:30 p.m. Jack’s Petting Zoo
1:30-4 p.m. Horse & Wagon rides through the village
2-2:45 p.m. Holiday reading for children at Words Bookstore
All day — Strollers caroling throughout the village

1-4 p.m. Dickens Village houses open for viewing
1-4 p.m. Visit with Santa
1:30-3:30 p.m. Jack’s Petting Zoo
1:30-4 p.m. Horse & Wagon rides through the village
2-2:45 P.M. Craft & Story time for children of all ages at the Maplewood Memorial Library, Main Library, Baker Street
All day — Strollers caroling throughout the village

Menorah Lighting, Monday, December 22
Menorah lighting celebrating Hanukkah will be held at 6:15 p.m. at the menorah in Ricalton Square.
