This week marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Village Trattoria in Maplewood. And you are invited to enjoy the celebration with them all week.
Trattoria owner Mary Vayas said, “during good times and bad times, this community has always been here to support us. Now we want to give back.”
The owners of Trattoria are well-known for doing just that. Over the years, Vayas and her late husband Angelo, have been there to support new business owners and local organizations in Maplewood. They are renowned for generously giving advice, help or just an encouraging smile.
“I can’t think of ever hearing an instance when some community group went to [them and they] didn’t help out in some manner,” wrote Hank Zona in a post on Maplewood Online in 2015.
Over the years, the Trattoria has been a great place to get delicious Italian food and chat with a friend. A Columbia High School sophomore says, “not only is Village Trattoria walkable from both Maplewood Middle School and CHS, they have so many types of pizza. Ziti pizza is my favorite, but really, they’re all great.”
Village Trattoria has since expanded to include successful locations in South Orange and Summit.
So come on in each day this week. Monday’s treat was one free large cheese pizza for any family in Maplewood.
Here are a few things to look forward to for the rest of this week:
Tuesday–dinner specials for dine-in customers, and Able Baker brownies served all day or until they run out
Wednesday–a special “pizza cake” from Able Baker
Thursday-Sunday–look for various swag and give-aways, like shirts, buttons, magnets, a raffle, and mini pizza cookies in pizza boxes.
So stop in to wish them a happy birthday. And Village Trattoria will make your day better, too.
