Parteaz, the party space that hosts unique birthday parties, events and classes for girls and women, is leaving its Springfield Avenue, Maplewood location after nearly five years for a larger space in East Hanover.

The new location, #50 Route 10, will provide roughly 2,000 square feet of space — almost triple that of the Maplewood spot. The move will take place on June 1.

“I’m sad about moving, but I feel that in order for my business to grow I need a different location,” said owner Susan Donlan. “Route 10 will give me a broader client base. It’s very exciting and very scary at the same time. This community has been so supportive of Parteaz. We hope we can continue to provide a unique venue for events and birthdays.”

A former graphic artist and textile designer, Donlan founded Parteaz LLC in 2004; in 2010 she opened the party and event space at 1860 Springfield Avenue.

The East Hanover location is built by the same architect that designed the Messy Artist space on Route 10.

“It’s an amazing design,” said Donlan. “There are two party rooms with a ‘Cake Museum’ in the front where anyone can come in and order specialty cakes for their own events or for a party in our store. There is also a snack bar offering coffee, tea and delicious baked goods, and a lounging area.”SPACE-RVSD1-1024x395

“We wish Susan the very best of luck in her new location, and while we are sad to see Parteaz leave the Avenue, we are happy that Susan will remain a Maplewood resident,” said Julie Doran, manager of the Springfield Avenue Partnership. “There is no firm news on a new tenant yet but interest in the property is strong.”
