It’s the party that everyone wishes they’d been invited to.
On Sunday, February 26, Jennifer Greenberg and Sonia Quintero hosted an Oscar Night party on behalf of the Achieve Foundation’s Night of 100 Dinners fundraiser at Greenberg’s home in South Orange.
Achieve held its 13th Night of 100 Dinners event on Saturday, March 4, but Greenberg and Quintero got started a few days early in order to take advantage of the Academy Awards telecast.
Night of 100 Dinners is Achieve’s biggest fundraiser of the year, in which local residents host parties to raise money for the foundation’s programs supporting teachers and students in the South Orange-Maplewood School District. Hosts cover the party costs and guests contribute $50 per person (or more) in support of Achieve to attend.
At Greenberg’s house on Feb. 26, the décor was Oscar – with 6′ cardboard cut outs, feathers and glitter, Thai chicken sliders, wasabi crab bites, drinks and popcorn.
The candlelit red carpet started at Greenberg’s driveway and ended at the front door where guests were met with a “step-and-repeat” for photo ops in their Oscar finery.
Guests included South Orange Village President Sheena Collum, Trustees Steve Schnall and Deborah Davis Ford, Board of Education member Susie Adamson and Achieve Director Deborah Prinz.
The Achieve Foundation is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that raises private funds to promote exemplary public education for all students and educators in the South Orange & Maplewood public schools. Achieve supports educator grants and professional development, volunteer tutors and district-wide initiatives. Achieve has invested over $1.8 million in the schools since 1999. The 2017 Night of 100 Dinners Top Chef sponsor is Allison Ziefert of Keller Williams Midtown Direct Realty.
