I am writing to express my strong and enthusiastic support for Donna Coallier for the South Orange Village Board of Trustees. I have known Donna for almost 30 years, both professionally and as a neighbor and good friend. For many years we were fellow partners at PricewaterhouseCoopers ( PwC ) and worked closely together on a variety of clients and projects. I can attest firsthand to her expertise in accounting, auditing, finance, and strategy. Clients highly valued her advice and counsel on their key business issues. Staff loved working for and learning from Donna. Within PwC she held a number of key positions, including establishing new practice areas and serving as the Chief Diversity Officer for her business unit. I frequently sought and valued Donna’s input and advice while at PwC, and continued doing so when I was Chairman of the U.S. Financial Accounting Standards Board from 2002-2010.
Donna also has significant experience in public policy. Earlier in her career she was chosen through a highly competitive process and served for two years as a Fellow at the U.S Securities & Exchange Commission. She is a former Chair of the Academic Advisory Council of the Michigan State University Accounting and Information Systems Department. More recently, she served on the Standards Committee of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, an organization with which I am also involved.
Donna has also brought deep commitment and passion to the many community and charitable organizations with which she has been involved, including serving on the board of SOPAC. In her SOPAC role, Donna has been tireless in organizing events and in ensuring that they are well communicated and supported.
I grew up in Maplewood and have lived in South Orange the last 35 years. We raised our children in South Orange and our grandkids now also live in South Orange. We love South Orange. Donna Coallier has the experience, financial acumen, common sense, energy, dedication, and concern for people that will make her a great Village Trustee. She is running together with Bob Zuckerman and Summer Jones. They also have very impressive and relevant backgrounds. And so I strongly encourage all South Orange voters to vote for this whole slate on May 14.
