To the Editors:
I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Summer Jones for the Village Board of Trustees. In part, I know Summer Jones from her work with the stellar South Orange Performance Arts Center where she leads the marketing committee and where Summer is active on numerous other committees. Why? Well, it is because of her love for the arts, her love for South Orange including our first responders, the library and the children of South Orange. Summer is a voracious reader. In fact, Summer belongs to several books clubs. And if you love the arts, reading and the South Orange Library, then you want to vote for Summer Jones for Trustee.
I work with Summer Jones at Montclair State University where I have known her for more than a dozen years. I have witnessed Summer grow and develop from a Helpdesk Manager, to the Director of Technical Support Services and in recent times Summer was promoted to Assistant Vice President. Summer has demonstrated high performance abilities to responsibly develop large technology capital and operational budgets; she has oversite of large groups of technical people including computer labs, new computer refresh cycle, Audio Visual assets and services in over 400 mediated spaces while providing detailed intelligence reports and analysis. Why is this important? It is important because of Summer’s demonstrated abilities to lead and lead well. It is important because Summer understands the demand of the times but also understands people. In addition, Summer cares. She cares about doing the right things for MSU and equally importantly she believes in doing the right thing to the people of South Orange.
In closing, Summer selected South Orange as her home and as her community. I know Summer loves South Orange and I believe the people will love Summer Jones. So, on May 14th, please vote for Summer Jones and the entire Line C team: Vote for Summer Jones, Bob Zuckerman and Donna Coallier. That’s right, vote for Line C all the way! Why because it will be good for you, just like Vitamin C.
