WNYC’s NANCY SOLOMON and ProPublica’s CHARLES ORNSTEIN discuss the effects of the collapse of the newspaper industry, the impact on New Jersey and what non-profit media organizations are trying to do about it. Ornstein directs ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network, which has provided funding to local and state journalists to do investigative reporting. Solomon is the managing editor for New Jersey at WNYC, and has spent 2019 working on a project for ProPublica on “The Real Bosses of New Jersey.” Wine and dessert will be served after the lecture.
