Coffee House Discussions with the SOMa Community Coalition on Race

September 12, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Coffee House Discussions: RACISM – It’s in our backyard, too

As we continue to reel from the repeated assaults on racial justice across this nation and locally, the need to talk as a community and to formulate meaningful action plans becomes more pressing than ever. So, the Community Coalition on Race is partnering with the SOMA Clergy Association and SOMA Action to co-sponsor a community wide discussion on September 12, 2017 from 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm titled RACISM – It’s in our backyard, too at the Woodland in Maplewood. We invite the community to discuss recent events in small groups and to share ideas for healing and resolution. The solutions can then be handed off to the groups and individuals present to begin implementation. This event is FREE and all are welcome, especially our youth. Registration is not required but is appreciated to help assemble racially diverse tables for the discussions. If possible, please go to twotowns.org before the night of the event and click on CONTACT to provide your name, race whether you are a youth or adult. Call 973-761-6116, if you need additional information or instruction.
