CommunityKids
February 28, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:15 am
Community Congregational Church of Short Hills is launching a new early-childhood enrichment program called CommunityKids, which combines the stimulation of early-childhood education, guided by the principles of a Montessori classroom, with the nurture of a Christian environment.
The class is designed to enrich the bond between toddlers and their parents. Children benefit from the early-education tools employed by teachers, including free play, structured circle time, and song. Parents find mutual support and friendship, while observing and interacting with their children.
“Structuring one-on-one time at CommunityKids with your child ensures that you set aside some time each week to connect with each other, as well as engage with other parents and children,” said Community Congregational Church’s Senior Minister The Rev. Dr. Johann Bosman of CommunityKids.
The program, which is open to the public, is offered for parents and their children between 18-30 months old. Classes begin in February and are offered on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 10am – 11:15am in 8 week cycles.
To ensure that each participant receives personalized assistance and attention, class size is limited to seven parent/child pairs. Due to the relationship-building aspect of the program, CommunityKids is not designed for nannies or au pairs.
If you are interested in being a part of one of our upcoming classes, you are invited to contact our program director, The Rev. Jennifer Testa Hrynyk by emailing Jennifer@CommunityChurch.org or calling (973) 379-5600, x13. A visit will then be scheduled with Jennifer, allowing you to see the classroom and discuss which class is right for you and your child.
Further information about the program is available on the church’s website, www.CommunityChurch.org. Community Congregational Church is affiliated with the United Church of Christ and is located at 200 Hartshorn Drive in Short Hills.
