Kitchen Theater Project: Aglio e Olio
December 10, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$20Aglio e Olio is a multi-sensory experience that interweaves food, family, loss, and—ultimately—harmony.
Aglio e Olio” (translated as “Garlic and Oil”) is a homegrown theater project by Maplewood residents Laura Gilkey and Meg Persichetti. Gilkey directs Persichetti in “Aglio e Olio,” Persichetti’s story of the time she spent with her father as he fought cancer his last few weeks of life.
A decade after her father’s death, Persichetti’s memories of that time were vivid and provoking, calling her to write a story. Gilkey read an early draft, whereupon the two began a three-year collaboration. Gilkey’s kitchen is transformed into an intimate theater where the story comes to life as a multi-sensory experience that interweaves food, love, and loss.
Performances will be at 8:00 p.m. on:
