Millburn Township addresses 13 Reasons Why Parents Need to Know what their kids are watching sponsored by MMAC

Netflix series glamorized, romanticized, sensationalized this Teenage drama about suicide, rape, drunk driving and bullying.

Many teens and kids have binge watched 13 Reasons Why and are having a wide range of emotions and reactions.

Parents need to know what their kids are watching, how to monitor their children devices and how to talk to them.

Parents need to take responsibility for what their kids are watching and how it is making them feel.

  • Kids are binge watching the series, sometimes more than once.
  • The movie graphically portrays two rape scenes, underage drinking, bullying, domestic violence, drug addiction and gun violence.  Educators and counselors are urging parents to talk to their kids about this topics covered in the film.

Join Nancy Kislin, LCSW, MFT and Parent Educator for a CONVERSATION about how to talk with your kids about the numerous subjects that the series depicts.  Learn how to use 13 Reasons Why as a conversation starter for talking about Taboo subjects.MMAC is the Millburn Municipal Alliance Committee dedicated to raising awareness and the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse.
