Exhibit curated by Greg Leshé in collaboration with the Pierro Gallery of South Orange.
This group exhibition surveys and explores the nature, foundational theme, and human tendency to construct archetypal forms known as mounds, piles and organized masses of physical materials. It looks at contemporary practice across a spectrum of disciplines, including some historical works, to consider the creative impetus for artistic expression within the format and iconography of piles.
The Walsh Gallery is located on the first floor of the Walsh Library at Seton Hall University, 400 South Orange Avenue, and is open 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. The exhibit runs from Monday, September 9 to Saturday, October 19. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, September 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.
