Playhouse Cooperative Nursery School and Kindergarten Open House

Playhouse Cooperative Preschool and Kindergarten will hold an Open House for prospective families on Saturday, December 10, 11:00am to 12:00pm.

Playhouse is a nurturing and creative preschool that emphasizes learning through play and hands-on experiences for children ages 2 1/2 through 6. To accommodate the varying needs of families, they offer a sliding-scale tuition and flexible schedules with half-day and full-day programs, co-op and non co-op class options as well as summer camp.

Established in 1951 by early childhood education expert Jeanne Ginsberg and area parents, Playhouse children not only develop their own skills, but also learn the problem-solving and social skills needed to work cooperatively with their peers. Children and their teachers work together to recognize feelings and to channel them in constructive ways. Children learn about their community and how to respond to each other with sensitivity and respect. Rather than fill children with information, our teachers tailor lessons to the interests and curiosities of the children in the classroom, creating an ownership and excitement for learning.

Centrally located, Playhouse families come from the communities of West Orange, Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Verona, Caldwell, Livingston, Maplewood, South Orange, Orange, and East Orange.
