Stephen Culbertson of West Orange leads the Society of Musical Arts Orchestra for their spring concert “Beethoven and Friends,” on Sunday, June 4 at 4 pm at Maplewood Middle School. Music of Beethoven (Egmont Overture), Bruch (Concerto No. 1 in g minor, Michael Emery, violin), Hanson (Merry Mount Suite), and contemporary composer Michael Abels’ “Dance for Martin’s Dream” reflecting upon the struggles and progress on the civil rights movement.
