Maplewood Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Kick-Off celebration will feature the creator of the off-Broadway sensation That Physics Show with the library’s very own That Physics Experience! Winner of the 2016 Drama Desk award for Most Unique Broadway production of the year, this scientific magic show is presented by lifetime professional physics demonstrator David Maiullo with segments that highlight the hidden world of physics in action. “[It’s like] having your really hip uncle teach science class for a day. David Maiullo has been featured in the New York Times, on NPR, on Science Friday, and has appeared in science shows on the Weather Channel, National Geographic, the Science Channel, and Discovery Channel. Among his many awards are the Lifetime Achievement Award from the NJ Science Teachers Association and the President’s Award from Rutgers University. One of his co-performers, Andrew Yolleck, grew up in Maplewood.
