Swinging on a Star: An Evening of Live Big Band Music and Swing Dancing to Benefit Maplewood Community Music
Maybe you aren’t sure what to do this Friday night. Why not go swing dancing or enjoy listening to you jazz favorites right here in Maplewood all while supporting a community nonprofit that brings free, family-friendly music to the public to audiences throughout the area.
Featuring live music by MCM’s community big band, Swing Town, and their talented vocalists who will serenade you with jazz standards and modern favorites from the 1920s to today. Setting the mood will be MCM’s 7-member flute choir, the Silvertones, featuring flutes from piccolo to contrabass — a rare experience for most.
Bring your dancing shoes, get out on the dance floor, and swing the night away! If you just want to listen to the music, that’s perfect and don’t forget to visit the cash dessert bar! It will be fun for everyone — bring the entire family!
$25/adults, $20/seniors, children under 12 free!

Tickets will also be available at the door (cash only) though reservations are recommended to guarantee your seat.
All proceeds go to Maplewood Community Music, a nonprofit operating several amateur bands and ensembles that perform free, family-friendly public concerts and youth music enrichment programs throughout the Maplewood area. Through donations and fundraisers such as this one, MCM has been able to keep all its concerts and youth music programs free since its formation in 2003 and, with your help, will be able to continue this wonderful tradition.
