From Kate Cahill of the Our Lady of Sorrows Food Pantry:
Meeting Emergency Needs with Dignity, Inc. (MEND) is the oldest and largest interfaith anti-hunger coalition of food pantries in Essex County.
Please join us for a cocktail & dinner reception at The Newark Club on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. as MEND marks its 36th year of serving those in need. Tickets are $125 per person. Tickets are available on the MEND website at https://www.mendnj.org/36th-anniversary/
We are excited to express gratitude and celebrate by honoring Rich Durante, President and COO, and the Essex County Kings Food Markets for their invaluable support of Meeting Emergency Needs with Dignity.
Since 1980, more than 1.6 million Essex County neighbors have passed through MEND’s doors to feed their families. In 2015, MEND pantries served approximately 107,000 individuals, a 65% increase over the past five years, despite two pantry closures last year.
