Updated: The Coffee with a Cop event on September 30 will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Maplewood Police Department, with the assistance of Rev. Rick Boyer, will be holding an informal community meeting for officers and residents with the first Maplewood Police “Coffee with a Cop” Event at Prospect Presbyterian Church from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on September 30, 2015.

“The basic goal of the meeting is simply to provide an opportunity for residents to meet several of our officers in a relaxed atmosphere in order to build relationships,” wrote Chief Robert Cimino in an email to Village Green. “There will be coffee and other light refreshments served and officers will have some crime prevention materials available for residents as well.”

The Chief added, “I’m hopeful that we have some families that participate so officers can interact with some of the youth of the community.”
